Homecoming for Heroes
The reception to the inaugural SpecTAPular was so positive that the partners began organizing a follow-up event before the first one was finished. Scheduled for April 15-18, the next SpecTAPular will take place in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and will be called “Welcome Home Vietnam.”

“We’re giving Vietnam Veterans the parade they never got,” Cline said. “It’s a three-night event, and the centerpiece is a Vietnam Veterans parade on the Pigeon Forge Parkway. We’ll have military vehicles providing transportation for troops. We’ll have a reviewing stand, confetti cannons and motorcycle clubs riding with us.”

Other components of the Pigeon Forge event will include a patriotic evening at Dixie Stampede that features national military dignitaries and celebrity concerts performed at some of the area’s theaters.

A second Virginia Beach SpecTAPular is planned for 2013 as well, following the successful formula created for this year’s event. That tour will take place October 22-25.
