Rock Hill set for AATC 2013

ROCK HILL, South Carolina — Rock Hill, South Carolina, will host the 2013 African American Travel Conference (AATC), which takes place April 23-25.

Rock Hill and surrounding York County were selected as the location for the conference after successfully hosting the Going On Faith Conference in 2012. This small city is just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, and features a blend of history, entertainment and traditional Southern charm.

“Rock Hill and York County have become a group tour destination in recent years and with good reason,” said AATC president Joe Cappuzzello. “Its location on a major interstate highway gives great accessibility, so many groups can get there in a day. But the real draw is the unexpected wealth of history, entertainment, lodging, dining and great Southern hospitality.”

In addition to appointment sessions, seminars and networking functions, the conference will include opportunities for attendees to tour the area. Sightseeing tours will take delegates to attractions such as the Catawba Indian Reservation, Historic Brattonsville, the Billy Graham Library Narroway Theatre. Attendees will also have an opportunity to spend time in Old Town, a historic district that has become Rock Hill’s center for cuisine, nightlife and entertainment.
