Muesum Guide: Museum cuisine

— Collections Café —
Chihuly Garden and Glass • Seattle
Although technically, it’s not a museum, the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit became a must-see itinerary item when it opened last year in Seattle. Located within the exhibition hall, Collections Café presents fine foods inspired by glass artist Dale Chihuly’s extensive travels. The restaurant’s decor reflects the colors and textures of Chihuly’s own studio and features a backlit wall highlighting 36 original Chihuly drawings.

The chefs at Collections Café have assembled a team of area ranchers, fishermen, foragers and farmers to supply the restaurant with great Northwestern ingredients. A selection of regional craft beers and wines from Washington and Oregon complement the menu.
Groups are encouraged to make reservations.

— Motor —
Harley-Davidson Museum • Milwaukee
The Harley-Davidson Museum honors one of the most recognizable icons of American culture, and resident restaurant Motor brings that same bold appreciation to iconic American foods.

Guests who eat at Motor will find large portions of regional American classics. The menu features Texas-inspired roadhouse chili and a barbecued rib recipe that hails from Little Rock, Arkansas. A number of dishes reflect the local Wisconsin culinary tradition, among them fish fry, “booyah stew” and locally made sausage and cheese.

Motor is open for lunch Sunday through Wednesday and for lunch and dinner Thursday through Saturday. Reservations aren’t necessary for individual diners but are recommended for groups.
